  1. Hello everyone, From our first round of voting I guess some guidelines should be implemented in order to make things clear to everyone. Like in most of the democratic countries the rules for the current election are available before the election date and set in stone. The question(s) and the number of participants (in case of a minimum required percentage to pass/attend is needed) will be displayed before the voting date. So I put to a vote the following guidelines: The question should have one line, simple and concise. A debate thread should be made and linked to the voting thread. The voters should be the ones in RoE at the moment of opening the poll. If there's a close vote nobody will vote a new potential member even though, probably, most of us will be interested to have him, because the > 50% will grow so it will be a waste of time and resources. The topic should be clear and concise. I suggest discussing it with everyone and try to come up with solutions before the thread gets opened and all the pros/cons should be debated in the dedicated thread. Since the poll is not working alongside a post I suggest voting using emoticons: heart: yes sad face: no confused: abstain
  2. @David ishia and @Ethereum I think you already voted. 1. Anyone counted the votes? I saw like 10 yes-es but we need to validate the voters
  3. I vote YES. But as @PeiLin said and others we should all try to find a way to identify ourselves. I understand that IDing everyone may pose some problems even though the initial plan was not to reveal the documents to everyone but just to be validated by a handful of people or a commetee decided by us but there are other ways, video was one of them, also we can organize 2 min video interviews and talk a bit about this. Or a different feasible way to validate each other. Please let's work this out and have in mind that language barrier exist and cultural differences should be considered as well. Just have in mind if one says something maybe the intention was not to offend you, hopefully. 2. "If aperson controls several BPs, he can easily find one unique identity for each BP. Even finding 21 different identities is not hard." - sadly that is also true but that does not mean that we should do nothing.
  4. Hello, The rule here is simple. We should allow to vote on an open/pending motion only the people that were registered before the motion is opened. I think this will help us add more users to RoE regarding pending motions. Think of it like this, when we have a tie vote and the community has not decided the fate of that motion nobody would allow a new member into the community. It will be one side willing to vote for that user but the other will abstain or vote no just to forbid him access to the RoE so he cannot vote and change the end result. What I'm trying to say is that most of the times we might face this situation and we should not have a deadlock on the RoE admission. Members should join and we should vote regardless of the current motions opened. Let's try to test the emoji/emoticons vote on this one. YES - NO - Abstain -

The motion to limit members' replies

1: YES, I agree with this. I have only some suggestions regarding the edit rules: Version your changes: 1. initial comment: Yes No. I agree with this. 2. first update: I would like to add that... 3. second update: I no longer agree with the motion and I think it changed radically. (strike the lines that you would have deleted). It's a bit of work but it might bring clarity. Of course one can simply delete and not follow the rules, if they become rules, of course.
  6. Exactly what I'm thinking. We should have a full pack aligned across the whole blochchain.
  7. What I want to say is that maybe there's a limit implemented in Invision Community forum. Not that we set a limit but rather there's already one dictated by the forum application.
  8. That's also a solution. I don't know what's the limit for one post. I guess you could edit but if you reach that limit you either rewrite your thoughts in less words or you stay silent. There's no perfect solution, that's for sure. I've recommended multiple changes. I will better split and make motions for every suggested change. that way everyone will vote yes/no on that particular change.
  9. With threads usually you see the first or the last page. It's hard to follow all the discussions
  10. I was thinking to have a thread with a question and inside that thread a link to a debate thread. The first should be clean without any reply, only votes. The other can be an open thread.

Motion to add a neutral vote

Yes I think this was always on the table. You can write abstain and that should be it.

Motion to secure the Block Producers

This is slowly turning into a circus. Don't get me wrong but I was trying to find the curent status and it's hard to follow. I've talked with lex last night and he told me that people from China can reach surveymonkey. I will try to find a way to make a poll there and allow only RoE people to vote. A simple yes/no. And keep the forum for debates. It's sad we cannot use Google drive. Having one's email would have been easier to manage this. We should find a better way to organize this. I'm glad we've had a motion like this with lots of different opinions. We have a lot to learn from this.

    Pioneer Citizens of RoE

Most of us are normal people :). With some exceptions, of course. I suspect @enumivo not to be, because it's working like a maniac.

Maybe we can also ask @Peesus to make an UI on the website where we can do this. Not right now but it can be put on the table if this test run passes.
  15. Hello Enumivans, I would like to start a process of BP validation that should help us know each other a bit better, be able to get the network hearth-beat a bit faster and be able to react within minutes (it takes hours to recover from an app crash so the sooner it's launched the faster it gets back online) in case of a disaster. Besides that we would need to have a test net, some UAT or acceptance criteria when a new release or change is made. - For the BP part I would recommend validating them as a human being (just like the oracles process) - JSON should be updated and uploaded on the mainnet - valid https access (for some whitelisted IPs if there's a concern about that) - valid personal contacts (email + phone number). I would expect to gather a group of people willing to validate both the email addresses and the phone number. I'm offering to do validation around Europe or close to my timezone for english speaking people. For gathering the data we can either use a google spreadsheet shared among each others with user explicit access. Please feel free to comment. Dragos.

What should require to be a BP

ok. we could take this on telegram. thanks

What should require to be a BP

yes but I don't think we should wait. Last update came pretty fast because of a bug. I bet some of the nodes runs on older versions and some might be behind with more than one version. I get that we don't have a proper protocol for testnet and we kind of doing it in mainnet but still. I don't see why one would have to wait to upgrade after the version is already in place and functioning. On the other hand we need to make some automation tests for each release plus some regression tests that could validate an update as being "safe" until proven otherwise. @enumivo since you are the dev can we help you build these tests? What kind of validation tests do you perform after each update?

Hey @PeiLin Thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware of that. To my understanding the changes that I've made are valid. Please let me know if I misunderstood the statements. I may have :). Cheers, Dragos

    Enumivo Massive Hiring by Oracles

Hey guys, I've just introduced myself in Enumivo Oracles topic. If you need more details or need something just let me know.
  23. Hello guys, I'm Dragos and I've been a longterm supporter for this project. I've been a block producer since the mainnet launched and also a small contributor to the community with automation scripts, recommendations and assistace when time allows me to. I've been in the IT industry for most of my adult life and regarding that you can know more on my linkedin profile (https://www.linkedin.com/in/vlaicu/). Regarding blockchain, I'm around couple of years ago and I also participated to enumivo airdrop from this year. You've probably seen me more in the BP Telegram group but also on the others answering questions and also asking uncomfortable ones. I'm skeptical and I always look for a clear answer. My contribution to enumivo project can be found, in part, here: https://github.com/dvlaicu I will continue to offer my support regardless of what's going to happen here.
